The complete process, step by step

01

Book your session online

Use our online booking calendar to pick a date and time that works in your timezone. Calendly automatically displays available times in your local timezone — no mental math required. Sessions are available Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 8 PM Eastern Time.

02

Submit your document and pay

After booking, email your document as a PDF to submit@primdocs.com. Your confirmation email also includes a secure payment link — complete payment before your session to confirm your appointment.

Document requirements

Send your document as a PDF. If your document is in Word or another format, convert it to PDF before sending. Do not sign the document before your session — signatures must be completed live in front of the notary to be legally valid.

Pay by bank transfer (ACH) or credit card

$70 flat rate, up to 3 notarizations

Full refund if cancelled before session start

+$5 per notarization beyond 3

03

Complete identity verification

Once your document and payment are received, you will get a session invitation from our notarization platform. Click the link to complete your identity verification before the scheduled session — this takes just a few minutes and can be done from your phone or computer.

Accepted ID documents

You will need a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID. Accepted forms include a U.S. passport, U.S. driver's license, or U.S. state-issued ID card. The name on your ID must match the name on the document being notarized.

Join your secure video session

At your scheduled time, click the session link in your email to join the video call. Your PrimDocs notary will review your document with you, confirm your identity, and witness your electronic signature live on camera. The session is recorded and retained per Maine state law.

05

Receive your notarized document

Within minutes of your session, your completed document — bearing the notary's electronic signature and official seal — is delivered to your email. It is legally valid and accepted by U.S. courts, federal agencies, financial institutions, and foreign governments that recognize U.S. notarization.

Need an apostille?

If your document will be submitted to a foreign government in a Hague Convention country — including most of Europe, Latin America, and Asia — you will likely need an apostille from the Maine Secretary of State. PrimDocs provides free apostille guidance after every session, and offers full apostille handling for $175 plus courier fee.
